Every day on eBay people are listing products for sale - and not even thinking about using the spell checker! They might have hundreds of items to list and just don't have the time, or they just can't be bothered. As a result, the most important part of an eBay listing often has mis-spellings in it. If the mis-spelling is one of the main keywords, the listing simply won't appear on the first few pages in eBay searches. As a result, the products often go unsold, or sell for very small amounts, and the sellers wonder why!

How can this help us?

Well, you could go to eBay and type in a long complicated search term to find the misspellings, for example, if you were looking for misspellings of "Nintendo Wii" you might type in something like this:

(nntendo wii, nitendo wii, ninendo wii, nintndo wii, nintedo wii, ninteno wii, nintend wii, nintendowii, nintendo ii, nintendo wi, nnintendo wii, niintendo wii, ninntendo wii, ninttendo wii, ninteendo wii, nintenndo wii, nintenddo wii, nintendoo wii, nintendo wii, nintendo wwii, nintendo wiii, nintendo wiii, inntendo wii, nnitendo wii, nitnendo wii, ninetndo wii, nintnedo wii, nintedno wii, nintenod wii, nintend owii, nintendow ii, nintendo iwi, bintendo wii, mintendo wii, nuntendo wii, nontendo wii, nibtendo wii, nimtendo wii, ninrendo wii, ninyendo wii, nintwndo wii, nintrndo wii, nintebdo wii, nintemdo wii, nintenso wii, nintenfo wii, nintendi wii, nintendp wii, nintendo qii, nintendo eii, nintendo wui, nintendo woi, nintendo wiu, nintendo wio)

Or you could use the search box below and just type in Nintendo Wii to generate the above search! (It's amazing how many ninteendo wii's are for sale with no bids on them!)

The search box is pretty self explanatory - type in your search term, tick which options you want and hit the big green search button at the bottom. The search will automatically generate loads of alternate spellings and go straight to eBay to search them out for you.

There are a number of similar free searches on the Internet, so why use this one?

Many of the other search tools on the Internet have been around for a while and are, frankly, out of date. As a result, they use old code to find stuff. The www.local-bargains.co.uk search tool is bang up to date and features the latest ebay api and search queries, which give far more results for your search term. For example, the Nintendo Wii search above generates 54 mis-spellings, while, as an example, fatfingers.co.uk only generates around 19 mis-spellings. As you can see, this means you will be able to find far more bargains here at www.local-bargains.co.uk!

We have also added some advanced search options that you don't find elswhere on the Internet very often. You can set how many bids an item has, or the minimum or maximum price, or how long a listing has got to finish. You can also search in titles and descriptions and include the correct spelling. You can even search ebay around the World and find products in another country that can be delivered to your country.

This is currently one of the most powerful misspelling searches on the Internet, so feel free to use it now and find a "hidden" bargain!

Don't forget that you can also use the search box on the right to find bargains in your local area that can be picked up in person. This can also unearth some fabulous bargains for you! Just type in what you're looking for, tick the deep search box, type in your postcode (without spaces), how far you want to travel, and hit search. The results will show on this website and you can browse through them at your leisure to find a local bargain! If you live near one of the towns or cities on the right, click on it to find every product in your local area that can be picked up in person. You can very often grab bargains before anyone else has even seen them!

Happy Bargain Hunting!
