Grow your own vegetables to eat healthier and save money.

Not only is growing your own vegetables a great way to get fresh, great tasting products, it can also save you a fortune on your shopping bills. You don't need a huge plot of land, many foods can be grown in window boxes.

With no experience in growing vegetables, it's often very confusing about what to start with, so basically, start with the vegetables that you like! Some people might have favourites, some might stick with old reliables such as:

Potatoes - these are probably one of the most simple to grow, they are also very good at breaking down heavy soil. You must give them plenty of water.

Leeks - These are very simple to grow right from the seed and young leek have a wonderful flavour.

Broad beans - extremely tasty when young - not so good when they're old! Again, these are pretty simple to grow.

Radishes - There are many different types of Radish variety, however, whichever variety you prefer they're all fast growing crops and taste wonderful and refreshing.

Runner Beans – quick growing and large crops, very nice and juicy when young. A bit tough and stringy as they get old.

Salad Stuff - Rocket, Lettuce and more can be grown in the garden or in pots, very easy to grow and taste delicious.
