Car BootSale Tips
Whether this is your first time selling at boot sales or even attending one, here are some car bootsale tips to keep in mind.
Get there early if you want the very best deals and you want to sell all the items that you have brought. Bargain hunters get there early.
Bring a few small notes and lots of coins so that you can make change. This can be handy when you're buying and selling. When you're selling, it saves the embarrassment of going around other car booters, asking for change!
Take along a pad of paper to jot down some prices of items. If it's a large bootsale, it's quite possible that you will see the same item for sale by someone else. Make notes about the price and condition so you can compare the deals and know where to go back to find them again.
Bring along a few bags to carry home all your treasures that you find.
If you're buying, make sure to take a good look at the item. Pick it up, inspect it on all sides to make sure you don't get stuck with a broken or damaged item.
Make sure to haggle. Whether you're buying or selling, it will be of benefit to negotiate the price. Obviously that means that if you're selling, leave a little room in the asking price for someone who will ask for a lower price.
If you really want something but can't get the price you want, wait until the end of the bootsale and return to the seller and ask them if they will sell you the item for the price you wish to pay. They may be eager to get rid of it.

Very often you will find dealers clearing out stock and just getting rid of stuff, or people taking a gamble that a 1p start will attract a lot of bidders. This doesn't always work for sellers, so great bargains can be found regularly, plus, now that ebay have clamped down on excessive shipping charges, you won't pay over the odds to get thaqt penny item!
