Is your budget looking a little less than healthy lately? Did you know that you can free up money each month simply by doing a few things differently around your home? It's true.

Over the past few decades the way that we live has put unnecessary stress on our ecosystem because of inefficiency. We use more energy than ever before in history because so much of our life consists of using energy. Everything that we do today, from washing dishes to playing video games requires that we use energy of some form. This consists of gas to heat your home, electricity or gas to operate your hot water heater, dryer, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and the list goes on. It's not something that we often think about when we're in a nice hot shower for 20 minutes in the morning or when we're doing the laundry, but each of these activities is using energy and it's costing you money.

While we all like to save some money, maybe you're not aware of just how easy it is to see some energy savings, just by changing the way you do things. The first thing in order to see some energy saving is to replace your light bulbs with energy saver bulbs that use far less power. If you have old appliances, consider replacing them with energy saving appliances as well. Both of these changes will be beneficial not only for the environment, but you will notice a difference when you get your electricity bill each month. Less energy used means a much lower bill. Make sure to turn the lights off each time you leave a room and carefully regulate the temperature in your home. In the summer, even turning the temperature down a few degrees can save energy by using your air conditioner less. Every bit helps!
