Getting out of Debt
In order to get yourself out of debt, the first thing that you need to do is quit spending. Trying to pay down debt, while at the same time overspending will ensure that you never become debt free. To get out of debt you and your family must be committed to it and be committed for a long time. In many cases getting out of debt will take many months or years and you have to keep reminding yourself of that commitment. It really is one of those cases where “slow and steady wins the race”. Although you may want to pay large payments on your credit cards each month to try to get them paid off quickly, it may be better to pay smaller amounts that you know that you can afford. Most people try making big payments only to need to use credit once again when an emergency comes up because they have spent too much money trying to pay the credit card bill off quickly.
