Living Simply
As the economy seems to be spinning out of control, it has given many people the opportunity to re-evaluate their lives, especially as it relates to careers and possessions. Many experts will tell you that you don't need a lot of money to be happy, but having money isn't a bad thing either. It's finding that balance in life and learning to live simply that will really make the most noticeable change in your life.
Living simply requires not only a change in the way that you live, but a change in the way that you think. Most people in our society are focused on getting more and accumulating things as a means of happiness. When you choose simple living, you are choosing to rid your life of the stress caused by constantly pursuing things that you cannot afford. For those with fast paced, stressful careers, this may mean choosing a new career that pays less in order to be happy. Of course once the pay decreases, this will force a change in lifestyle including things like the type of car you drive, the size of house you own and the number of holidays that you may take in a year. Believe it or not, downsizing and choosing to spend less because you have less to work with isn't always a bad thing.
