Thrifty Living

Have you ever been called “cheap”?  For those that love to get good deals and make it a way of life, they're often referred to as cheap or thrifty among their friends. For far too long being cheap and living thriftily has been frowned upon, but it's quickly gaining acceptance. As the economy gets worse, many people are looking for ways to live cheaper.

Living thrifty doesn't mean that you have to completely stop buying things that you enjoy and live like a hermit. It just means that you are more aware of the money that you are spending and you are engaged in ways to spend less money. This involves everything from finding cheaper ways to buy groceries, which includes clipping coupons and comparison shopping to buying items only when they are on sale. If you are used to spending a lot of money and just pulling out your credit card each time you want something, it might take some time to adjust to living thriftily, but it's worth making the switch. When you learn to live on less money, you will notice your cash flow situation improving quite quickly and you will now have money left over. If you were living in a deficit situation before, living thriftily now means that you can pay all your bills on time and you don't get any more phone calls from bill collectors. It will revolutionize your life and in a way it's very freeing. Over time you will notice that your “need” for expensive items may decrease and you will be the one in control of your money, rather than having your money control you.

Thrifty living is chic today and if you want to be on the cutting edge, learn to spend less and live thriftily!
